Land Securities have recently been granted planning for the redevelopment of the former Westminster Kingsway College building at 6 Castle Lane.

Over the past 18 months, Parmarbrook have been working closely with award winning RARE architects on the feasibility study, considering opportunities to redevelop the site.

The approved proposal will see the existing 1930’s school building demolished and replaced with 28 high-quality apartments and 3 townhouses with a mix of studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes.

Set in the Birdcage Walk Conservation Area – characterised by richness and diversity of townscape, the scheme expresses key local architectural elements, such as the use of brick and Georgian bow windows. The building is intended to present a clearly modern design in a subtle dialogue with its surroundings. The new development will also introduce landscaped gardens, private courtyard gardens, green roofs and private terraces.

Demolition and construction works are anticipated to commence imminently and take approximately 25 months to complete.
