The prime central London scheme has recently been given the Green Light by Westminster City council for the Residential redevelopment of Eggington House at 25-28 Buckingham Gate, SW1.
The neo-Georgian interwar building, previously used as office space will be replaced with a Squire and Partners-designed residential block comprising 24 high-end apartments.
Parmarbrook have been appointed by the client as a part of the design team to provide civil and structural engineering design. The building consists of 8 stories above ground, with the top two being glass duplex apartments. There will also be a three story basement below ground. The façade takes inspiration from the Victorian mansion blocks locally within the Victoria area, providing a modern interpretation of this look. Structurally the building consists of an insitu RC frame, with flat slabs provided to give an uninterrupted services zones. At ground floor level transfer beams and walls are used to transfer the residential column grid to a car parking grid.
Demolition commenced in Q1 of 2015 upon full vacant possession of the site
