Land Securities were granted planning for the redevelopment of the former Westminster Kingsway College building at 6 Castle Lane.

Over an 18 month period, Parmarbrook worked closely with RARE architects on the feasibility study, considering opportunities to redevelop the site.

The approved proposal included the existing 1930’s school building demolished and replaced with 28 high-quality apartments and 3 townhouses with a mix of studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes.

Set in the Birdcage Walk Conservation Area – characterised by richness and diversity of townscape, the scheme expresses key local architectural elements, such as the use of brick and Georgian bow windows.

The building is intended to present a clearly modern design in a subtle dialogue with its surroundings.
