CALA Homes appointed Parmarbrook to undertake the detailed Civil and Structural Engineering works for the development of this Greenfield site.

The site’s difficult topography posed a challenging modelling exercise in order to minimise the requirement for large retaining structures and cut/fill volumes. Finished floor and external levels were carefully designed to ensure the most economical and optimal approach was specified.

The site’s drainage complimented this approach with the use of house soakaways and a larger infiltration basin to treat and control surface water run-off from the site. This meant no surface water flows were discharged from the development site.

Detailed off-site Section 278 works were also required as a planning condition for the development. This included the design of a new offsite footway running adjacent to the existing Highway to tie into existing area infrastructure.
