Parmarbrook provided structural design for the phased regeneration of a disused warehouse adjacent to The Oval and Regent’s Canal in Bethnal Green, London

The Warehouse now occupies an evolving arts and events space – appropriated by a variety of visitors for an eclectic mix of uses – from live music and performance art to still and video location work, while allowing the client to maintain full control over the activities providing a great example of how to ‘make things happen’ with nothing.

Capital funding for the project came almost entirely from pop-up events held in the warehouse prior to construction. The young vibrant client’s vision for the site is to gradually incorporate and improve the surrounding area, much of which is derelict and unloved – the space continues to evolve.
